Martin Luther King Plaza - Before & After Photos


These "before" pictures were taken on Friday, October 15, 1999, just 2 days before the implosion. These "after" pictures were taken on Saturday, October 23, 1999, almost 1 week after the implosion.

Building #1 as seen from 13 St. Just to the right is Building #2. The remains of Building #1 in a view from Fitzwater Street (between 12th & 13th). A small amount of debris spilled over onto the sidewalk, but no damage occured because of it.

Building #3 as seen from 13th St. (between Catharine St. & Fitzwater St.) Building #3 was set back a little farther from the street than the first two were. This view of the well-fragmented pile of rubble was taken from 13th St. near the spot at the picture on the left.

Building #4 is the tallest in the complex, at 15 stories. This view was taken from the corner of Bainbridge and 13th. This is all that is left of Building #4. This pile of debris was seen from 13th St. (between Fitzwater St. & Bainbridge St.)
